This is one of the most important parts of veterinary care. It's where we get to know you and your pet. We gather information and examine your pet to come up with the best possible treatment plan. Consultations run from 8am until 7pm every weekday and from 9am to 12pm on Saturday.
All consultations are by appointment, just phone or email. Please let us know if there's a particular vet you want to see.
Getting the right diagnosis in a timely fashion needs a great veterinary team and excellent equipment. Luckily we have both.
ACCESS TO DEDICATED 24 HOUR CARE
It's important to know that your pet can be seen 24 hours a day and that your sick pet can receive round the clock observation if necessary. When we are closed or if we need to transfer a critical patient for overnight care then we use the Animal Emergency Centre. A fantastic after hours facility that means you are never without top quality veterinary care.
Surgeries and procedures are performed every week day by our two very experienced surgeons Dr. Richard McKee and Dr. Oliver Reeve. There's not a lot these two haven't seen and they both enjoy providing top notch surgical care.
They are backed up by a highly educated, experienced, team of surgical nurses and excellent surgical facilities.
Post operative pain management is always a high priority!
Diagnostics, it's how we get to the bottom of what's causing your pets ill health. In clinic we can do blood tests, urine tests, blood pressure checks and cytology rapidly - sometimes while you wait. We also send samples off to external laboratories several times a day where we make use of expert pathologists to help us along the diagnostic pathway.
ACCESS TO SPECIALIST SERVICES
For complicated conditions we may choose to offer referral to veterinary specialists including the Veterinary Specialist Group. This is a world class facility located centrally in Mount Albert. VSG is staffed by registered specialists in surgery, medicine and radiology. They work closely with us to provide optimal care for your pets.
An important part of veterinary care. Unwell animals often need to stay in the hospital on fluid pumps and with ongoing medication and care. We have separate wards for cats and dogs (those kitties don't really love having big dogs next to them!) and a dedicated, caring team of nurses tending to your pets every need.
You are welcome to visit your pet in the hospital, just call ahead so we are ready for you.
Dental issues cause bad breath and chronic pain. Dental care is so important to your animals well being. We can check your pets teeth, and recommend dental diets. If your pet needs dental treatment then we are fully equipped for dental scaling and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery as well as digital dental radiography.
Good nursing care is absolutely vital to the recovery of your pet. All our nurses are qualified and experienced. They provide dedicated care during surgery, anaesthesia, radiological studies and hospital care. They keep your pet warm, comfortable and fed. They monitor vital signs, administer medication, and run diagnostics for the vets. Veterinary care really is a team effort.
