Covid 19 & Bringing Your Pet To The Clinic

NZ is at level 4 alert for the COVID pandemic.

Vet clinics are classified as essential services. We will still be open to take care of your pets. We should still be able to provide our usual services, however we will be changing the way we practice and will have to delay some routine, non urgent visits.

You are still able to get medication repeats and food from the clinic, just call us first.

When You Arrive At the Clinic:

  • make an appointment as normal (phone or email). When you arrive at the clinic please do not come into the clinic.

  • Please delay regular annual health checks (Kitten and puppy vaccinations are important and we are still doing these).

  • When you arrive at the clinic stay in your car and phone us.

  • A staff member will come and gently take your pet into the clinic to be checked over and treated by the vet, while you will stay in the car.

  • The vet will conduct the consultation with you over the phone.

  • Once the process is complete we will bring your pet and any medication to the car.

  • A nurse will bring a mobile EFTPOS unit to your car. You can also pay with credit card over the phone or online banking.

  • We are sanitising our EFTPOS keypad after every use.

  • Routine paper consent forms will not be done. We will discuss procedures and costs over the phone and you can verbally consent to them.

  • If your animal is unwell do not hesitate to contact us. We will be here to treat them. As with any form of healthcare early intervention is best and if you’re worried please contact us.

If you have a cough, sneeze or cold like symptoms, if you are being tested for COVID or have tested positive for COVID or have been in contact with someone who has COVID you must let us know by phone. We can treat your pet but we need to know these things in advance and it would be better if you could organise someone else to bring your pet to the clinic if possible.

If you have any questions, please let us know. More updates as things progress.

Kia Kaha and we’ll get through this together.
